Why Energy Matters

"The Energy of the Mind is the Essence of Life" Aristotle

Some days you are on top of the world, and other days you are beneath the ground, and you believe that is the way it is, right? Not precisely. However, it's human nature to have changeable moods, temperaments, emotions, and reactions. We indeed hold a lot more control than it feels like sometimes when we are around certain people.

That is simply because everything we see, touch, and interact with, even the very essence of being is made out of energy. Iris Schrijver, professor of pathology at Stanford University explains “everything we are and everything in the universe and on Earth originated from stardust, and it continually floats through us even today". It directly connects us to the universe, rebuilding our bodies over and again over our lifetimes”. This directs us to the conclusion that we all and everything that exists around us comes from the same energy. We create good or bad situations in our lives through a shift in energy. Which is why so many philosophers emphasize the power of manifestation; it is seemingly undeniable, imperceptible, and unbelievably powerful. As quoted by Charles Hannel, famous American Author (1866-1949), "The vibrations of mental forces are the finest and consequently the most powerful in existence."

There are times when we feel that we are not in control of our energy. Instead, we are being controlled by the energy around us, recognizing these moments, and taking full advantage of such moments is particularly essential. Often, habitual thinking patterns of predicting our energy creates situations around us. If before starting a new project, you tend to think "this is going to be so difficult, it's going to be unbreakable," then you are regulating yourself to feel tired, exhausted, and discouraged. This might also have a lot to do with the environment and the people you are surrounded by.

"Our environment plays a crucial role in how we feel, and people we interact with play a major role in how we feel within." People can uplift us and inspire us and also can deplete us and trench us. Pay attention to how you feel when you are with certain people. Do you feel happy, empowered, excited, uncomfortable, caved? If you feel a crushing sensation of trepidation, maybe it is time to cut off that person from your life.

However, cutting of exchange of energy is not so easy, which is why the "cord-cutting" technique from Reiki is used to detach a person from another that is weighing them down. If you are not cutting the cords, crystals can be a perfect touchstone to use as a reminder that your energy is in your control and brings you back to your best state.

Rose quartz or amethyst can be useful in such a situation. However, before entering any situation, remind yourself you hold power in deciding how you are going to feel and react in that situation. And don't exhaust yourself if you don't master it right away. Practice and resilience are the keywords.
